He was called the most famous photographer
on the planet. Richard Avedon has taken some of Vogue’s most lavishly gorgeous
fashion imagery not to mention some of it’s most iconic. He also worked in
documentary photography and celebrity photography. He was obsessed with tearing
down barriers and capturing raw emotion on camera, evident by his chilling portraits
of Marilyn Monroe and Wallace Simpson. It’s funny how he worked in an industry
that prided itself on superficiality when he so fixated on brining out such raw
humanity in the subjects he photographed.
